From the makers of Pedigree Dogs Exposed, the latest news and views regarding inherited disorders and conformation issues in purebred dogs.
Honestly, these dogs remind me of exaggeratedly-masculine human cartoon characters - the ones with huge chests, tiny shrunken waists, and thin short legs. For most of the dogs, everything from the loin back looks as if it belongs to a smaller dog. But man, they have that deep rich pigment, ear set, and expression pretty much down pat.
I'm gobsmacked. These dogs are indeed crippled.
So pacing is acceptable in a sieger show, now?
Germans lead, the sheep follow. I can only say forgive them for they know not what they have done.
Well, better movement than the GSD at Crufts! But why the hell are they all built like tanks and overweight?
Hump backed, front paddling, weak-hinded sadness. It is not, nor it cannot come to good.
Sad to see that the twisted ideals of Europe, UK, US, China, and Tibet have been exported to other countries like the Philippines. The Philippines have some cool native dogs with high genetic diversity (Askals), so it's disappointing to see them jump on the purebred bandwagon. The dog show virus is spreading all over the world like a pandemic.
Meanwhile, in the audition for the Ministry of Silly Walks...
Holy shit, I thought you were kidding when you said they were gaiting. Absolutely incredible. (Not in a good way)
and the whole point of this appears to be an obsession with side gait to the exclusion of everything else. Nothing matters but being able to do endless circles in that strange but ground covering way. Personally, if I was still able to run with my dogs instead of looking enviously as they gallop around, something like Canicross or Agility would be much more fun!
The gait isn't really ground covering, it wastes a lot of energy. If it was more efficient to trot this way coyotes, foxes and wolves would do so since they spend most of their hunting time trotting around looking for prey.
gait is one thing - all the dogs are desparately hot, panting and salivating due to what must be the heat... and the onlookers are trying to wind them up with shouts, whistles, etc... when the poor animals are just trying to maintain a lower body temperature...
I couldn't possibly comment because Im overwhelmed by a sudden rush of showing " in the know".Its quite an emotional feeling, seeing the light. That eureka moment. Seeing athleticism where there isn't any, seeing a correctly structured dog where there is only a horrible train smash before me, seeing grace and beauty in a man ruined travesty. Completely overwhelmed. While there are so many functional dog breeds out there I just want to rush out and join the frog parade. Where do I sign up?!
